TWENTY FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Would You Like to Become Catholic??? The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) is the process by which the Catholic Church welcomes new members from other faiths and assists those baptized as Catholics to become full members of the Church through the sacraments of Eucharist and Confirmation. If you are interested in learning more about the Catholic Church, have a desire to become Catholic, or are Catholic already but have never made your First Communion and/or Confirmation, consider joining us for an informational meeting Wednesday, October 2, 7:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish Center, 119 Grove St., Torrington. For more information, contact Father Stephen at 482-4433.
Would You Like to Help with the RCIA??? Here’s an opportunity to fulfill your call to Stewardship! We’re looking for people in our parishes willing to provide hospitality for our Wednesday night meetings – taking turns providing a baked goodie & setting up coffee for the meetings. We are also in need of people willing to support our candidates throughout the process by offering to pray for them or being willing to walk with a candidate as a sponsor. Finally we are looking to assemble a Scripture reflection team to meet with the candidates on 4-5 scheduled Sunday mornings during the year. If you think you could help, contact Father Stephen at 482-4433.
A Family Perspective
Parents are like the landowner in the gospel. They give according to the need of their children. In a family, there are times when one person needs more attention and love than another. Families are governed by generous love and not by equality.

We wish to thank everyone, especially the committee and all workers from both parishes, the fraternal organizations for their generous donations and ALL who helped in any way to make this event so successful including those who attended! Most of all, it was a social success enabling parishioners of Sacred Heart and St. Peter’s to come together for a sociable and enjoyable gathering. After all bills were paid our profit amounted to $747. God Bless All of You!
