Faith Commitments - (8th Grade and Confirmation Class)
Faith Commitments are an integral part of our Faith Formation program.
While participating in these faith based and community service events you are living your Catholic Faith and following the Corporal Works of Mercy. In order for these events to be successful we do need your cooperation.To sign up for the monthly faith commitments please either call Donna Puzacke at 489-7899 or email your request to torringtonconfirmation@yahoo.com
- Faith Commitments will be posted on the website by the 25th of the month.
- Signups must be made prior to the first of every month.
- Students please check with your parents to confirm your schedule allows you to be at the event you are interested in, prior to sign up.
- Students please make the phone calls yourself.
- Please leave your name, phone number and the faith commitment you are signing up for if you get the recording.
- If an unforeseen change in your plans occurs you must call 860-489-7899 to reschedule prior to the event.
- If a Faith Commitment lists a request for adult participation please ask your parents if they would like to join us and sign them up when you call to make your reservation.
- Name tags must be worn at all Faith Commitments

Although we did give minimum requirements for the amount of Faith Commitments each student participates in throughout the year, there is no maximum. Please consider signing up as often as you would like and we hope you will participate in some of our repeat commitments at least once during the year.

Friday, May 4th Eucharistic Adoration Sacred Heart Church 7:00 - 8:00pm Come spend an hour in prayer before the very presence of Our Lord exposed on the altar. You can have some quiet time alone with Jesus to pray, read the bible or just sit and reflect on what is in your heart that you would like to share with Him. |
Monday, May 7th Catholicism Series 6:50-8:00pm Sacred Heart Church Hall The 9th segment of the Catholicism series, this week’s title is “The Fire of His Love; Prayer and the Life of the Spirit” Come and learn more about our rich Catholic faith as told be Fr Robert Barron.

Wednesday, May 9th A Visit to the Holy Land 7:00pm at Sacred Heart Church Hall Deacon Jim will be sharing a photo tour of all the places he visited in his recent trip to the Holy Land. See where Jesus, lived, walked, died and rose. From Bethlehem to Calvary, from Nazareth to the Sea of Galilee, the bible will come to life for you in this beautiful photo presentation. Refreshments will be served. |
Monday, May 14th Catholicism Series 6:50-8:00pm Sacred Heart Church Hall The 10th and final segment of the Catholicism series, this week’s title is “World Without End: The Last Things” It is sure to be a fascinating episode. |
Saturday, May 19th Thrift Shop Assistance St. Peter/St. Francis School 11:00-1:00 We need 2 students to help at the Cluster run thrift shop, greeting and assisting customers and helping organize donations. A genuine ability to enjoy interacting with others is necessary for this faith commitment. |
Friday, May 25th Thrift Shop Assistance St. Peter/St. Francis School 2:30-4:15pm We need 2 students to help at the Cluster run thrift shop, greeting and assisting customers and helping organize donations. |
Saturday, May 26th Valerie Manor Ice Cream Social 1:45 - 3:15pm We will join the residents of Valerie Manor for an ice cream social. We will assist by transporting the residents to and from the party as well serving the ice cream and visiting with the residents. We need 6 students to commit to this event and 1 parent. |

Sunday, June 10th Corpus Christi Procession 3pm from St. Mary Church The Torrington Cluster of Roman Catholic Parishes will bear public witness to Jesus Christ and our devotion to the Eucharist with a Procession of the Blessed Sacrament through the streets of Torrington. The procession will begin 3:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church, travel to Sacred Heart Church, then to St. Francis Church and conclude at St. Peter Church. We need students, parents, families to join us in this public display of our faith. We also need 4 young men to walk in the procession carrying the canopy. If you can join us please contact me. |

Friday, June 15th LARC Friday Fun Night 6:00-7:45
Friday night fun for all- Play games such as Uno / Left, Right, Center and other games with our friends at LARC. Note- LARC’s new location 923 Migeon Ave. This Faith Commitment is limited to 6 students

Saturday, June 16th LARC Craft Group on Saturday 1:00-2:30
923 Migeon Ave. You don’t have to be crafty to assist with art projects when we join with our friends at LARC as they create art pieces and have a good time doing so. This Faith Commitment is limited to 6 students. We need 1 parent to assist. **Note: LARC has moved- new location 923 Migeon Ave.
